For the Georgian biopharmaceutical cluster members was held a two-day training on the Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
GDP is a globally recognized standard that helps pharmaceutical companies ensure the safe supply of medicines to the market.
The training was conducted taking into account the feedback received during the organized (GMP) training in May 2022.
The training was held for the Georgian biopharmaceutical cluster, which brings together both bacteriophage and herbal pharmaceutical companies and their supporting institutions and aims to help members develop competitiveness, increase sales and gain access to new markets.
The training program was organized under the UN Joint Program on Innovative Action for Private Sector Competitiveness in Georgia. The program is funded by the European Union (EU) with a budget of USD 6 million and implemented by four UN agencies – the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The training was led by both local and international highly qualified experts and with the involvement of 25 members of pharmaceutical companies. the program received great interest and feedback from the beneficiaries, and the European Union and (UNIDO) will continue to support the Georgian biopharmaceutical cluster in the future in various directions.
